Kesha Looks Amazing on Red Carpet in First Post-Rehab Appearance

Kesha is looking amazingly fresh and happy after focusing on herself in rehab for a few months. I commend her for her strength for getting help and staying strong. Below is an article on her first appearance out of rehab.

ABC News’ Daisha Riley reports:
Pop singer Kesha appeared healthy in her first red carpet appearance since finishing two month-stint in rehab to treat an eating disorder.

The “Timber” singer wore a sheer, backless black gown Saturday when she attended the Humane Society of the United States’ 60th anniversary gala.

Kesha Leaves Rehab, ‘Happy to Be Back’

Kesha recently dropped the signature dollar sign from her name and a friend of hers told People magazine that she’s also dropped then negative influences that used to surround her before she sought treatment in rehab.

“Since exiting rehab Kesha has been focusing on her inner strength and practicing self-love – really making sure she’s continuing to follow the rules and guidelines set for her while in rehab,” Patrick Gomez, a reporter for People magazine, told “Good Morning America.”

In January, Kesha’s mother said her daughter’s condition was so bad that doctors said she was lucky to be alive.

Kesha’s Mom on Pop Star’s Eating Disorder: ‘She Almost Died’

Earlier this month, the singer tweeted a photo of herself wearing a T-shirt that read “IMA SURVIVOR.” She also tweeted: “Happy to be back! Feeling healthy & working on tons of new music. I can’t thank my fans enough for all the love & support u have given me.”

Those fans couldn’t be happier to see her back. One fan tweeted: “Glad you’ve completed treatment. Love you can’t wait to hear what you have in store next.”

Howard Bragman, an image expert and ABC News consultant, said everybody is pulling for Kesha to succeed, adding: “She’s also a very powerful role model for a lot of young women who have these kinds of issues.”

What to think about before moving in together!

That moment when you find yourself paying for essentially a closet at another house while you spend most of your time at your boyfriend or girlfriends house. Then you have “the talk”  you know that should we move in together talk?! Many things can spark this conversations but finances seem to always be on the top of the list. “It just makes more sense to live together and save money than to live separately, when we are together all the time.”  I get it, half the bills and rent is really nice. Along with watching and reading about all the celebrities shacking up and playing house with their loves, it may feel like all signs point to move  in together. I have been living with my boyfriend for 4 years now.  I have learned a lot and figured I would share. So here are some things to think about and some heads up on how life will change.  😉

  •  Money should not be the number one reason to move in together. It is way more expensive and a much longer process to breakup while living together. I am not saying be negative and prepare for a breakup but just be realistic. I have watched many girlfriends have to live extra days and weeks with ex’s while having to deal with leases and moving out plans. The longer you live together the move you accumulate things together… well who gets the tv?  This is the time to think with your head and not your heart for a minute .
  •  The money talk: have a conversation on what each others expectations are. Is everything 50/50, is one person better with money than the other, whose names will be on utilities and whose duty is to have them paid on time each month? Having an open conversation before hand on these topics will eliminate possible frustration on either end when the situation arises. If one person makes more than the other, does that person have expectations from the other to make it up in other areas?

Once living together you naturally find each others roles in the house. Like I am a total bathroom and bedroom cleaner and Alex is all about the kitchen and living room. Or I buy all shower products, mostly because he would use one product for everything… that is not okay, guys!!

  • Perks: A perk  living with your love is you no longer have to do all the annoying house work. Who really likes to take the trash out… NOT ME!  So, for the most part the bf takes the trash out and I dust. You also will always have someone to go home to, to have dinner with and to just be lazy with. You have a built in partner in crime, best friend your Clyde to your Bonnie all without a call or leaving your house.
  •  Routine Adjustment: We all have our favorite little things we do that not everyone else does or even enjoys. For example I use to love waking up and getting my coffee and getting back into bed to watch the news. Well, that came to abrupt stop once Alex moved in. He usually sleeps later than me and finds it too disturbing to the TV on while he is sleeping.  So I had to make a change. One thing I got him to get use to was TV before bed. He use to hate it but now I have got him to a point he likes to watch a show in bed before we fall asleep. Compromise babes!
  • So much stuff:  When Alex moved in, I had a small heart attack because of the amount of stuff he had and how none of it was cute! My nice girly room was all of sudden taken over with BOY STUFF!   I went around saying we need to eliminate this and this and this. Alex at the end of the day said “Stop eliminating all my stuff, I like it” So I grabbed the Jack Daniels rug and explained he can save it in storage for his man cave one day.  Common sense when two people live together they accumulate A LOT and each person has their own belongings that they will not part with… damn squeaky computer chair…  I try to have the rule , something in and something out.  Make sure before moving in together there is enough space! Whose bed will you keep or dresser? Or are you both on the same page as the home decor goes. I am often told when I am decorating, ” don’t forget a MAN lives here”  Things to think about…
  • Making Love …Handles: We have all heard of that dreaded freshman 15 pounds but what about the love chub that is gained. Lets be real, living together  doesn’t help but my boyfriend is chef.  When we first moved in together it  was like “playing house” and you are both making everything really nice. I was making full breakfast and he was making gourmet dinners and life was great! Until all that eating caught up with me, I ended up gaining about 20 pounds and I was not feeling good about it! We grew up with different kinds of food in the house and going to the grocery store was pretty hilarious and frustrating.  We would be debating about what peas were better. It’s the little things I am trying to point out in this post.  I finally made a change and thankfully  Alex being a chef he  was able to change his cooking to Low Carb and overall a healthier lifestyle. Keep health in mind because you and your man or woman, want to  be a healthy sexy babes forever.
  • Bad Days:  We all have our moments, no matter how perfect the couple. Once you live together there is very little running away that can be done to avoid an argument. Eventually you both have to go to bed or pass one another in the the kitchen. You have to address the issue and have clear communication. Try not to pick up bad habits of going to bed angry or kicking on another out of the bed.  Respect each others space at all times but especially during those heated moments. Just because you live together does not mean that you or your partner don’t need alone time or space to think.
  • Be a team! Being a team is the most important! Moving in together makes you two more of a  team than ever before. What one person does now in many ways effects the other, from emotions to money decisions. I can’t just pick up and leave, I have myself and Alex to think about. Be each others cheerleaders and biggest supporters. Times get tough and you are essentially riding on a roller coaster trying to stay on the same track through the  highs and lows of life together. Live, laugh and love together!

Lady Gaga Says She’s Submissive In Relationship With Taylor Kinney

Well we have all heard of the 50 shades of Grey series and BDSM. Dominatrix and submission is getting talked about openly more and more and I think that’s great. We can all think everyone is vanilla but more people are not and my thoughts are .. what ever makes you happy is great!!

Reading more into the article it has nothing to do with 50 Shade style submission but submission about taking care of your man. As women we portray that we are either damsels in distress or so independent we don’t need any help. Well, I think both are wrong if taken overboard, we need an even balance. Be a bad ass independent, I don’t need  you but choose to be here and also to be aware a man wants to feel like a man and you just being sweet caring wonderful woman that takes care of his needs. So doing little things like cooking breakfast for him and buying him a new pair of boxers, will leave him appreciating you but not be confused that you can’t live without him.  I have been in a 5 year relationship and come from a very strong independent single mother, this took time for me to balance.I am still practicing! The article below talks about the power house independent  Lady Gaga who kicks off her shoes and cooks for her man on her down time. She admits in the article she enjoys taking care of him and not being in control all the time. Check out the article below….

Image

Lady Gaga might be in charge when it comes to her professional life, but she is apparently the submissive one in her personal life.

Gaga opened up about her role in her relationship with Taylor Kinney, whom she has been dating since 2011, while chatting with the hosts of Sirius XM’s “The Morning Mash Up.”

“Oh yeah, he’s [Kinney], like, totally in charge,” she responded when asked about being submissive. “When I’m home I’m, like, shoes are off, I’m making him dinner, you know? He has a job, too, and he’s really busy. I’m in charge all day long. The last thing I wanna do is tell him what to do. We’re just really good friends. It’s not good for relationships to tell men what to do, female listeners who are out there.”

Gaga hints at submission in her new music video, “G.U.Y.,” which is an acronym for “Girl Under You.”

“In the second scene, it’s the girl under you in a more kind of sexual and submissive way,” she explained on “Mash Up.” “And, then at the end of the video, it’s really about the ultimate power that women can feel in being on the bottom. … Sometimes it’s nice to not have to be in charge all the time. It’s okay to let other people take charge as long as you’re smart and cunning and have your wits about you.”

As for Kinney, he talked about their romance to E! News in January, saying: “I’m reserved. She’s not. For whatever reason, it works. It works and that’s that.”

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick Sell Their Stylish $3M Home: Take a peek inside.

I have always been fascinated with Kourtney Kardashians interior design style. Now  according to Yahoo news, Kourtney and Scott Disick  have sold their custom designed home and we get a peek inside!

Yahoo : By

“Keeping Up With the Kardashians” has been particularly difficult this week.

Besides all the excitement (and irritation) over Kim and Kanye West’s Vogue cover, E! has announced that its stable of Kardashian shows is about to get bigger. It’s planned “Kourtney and Khloé Take the Hamptons,” which will revolve around Kourtney, her longtime love Scott Disick, and a newly single Khloé, and a show about the Kardashian family’s Dash boutiques called “Dash Dolls.” Just in case you missed one of the fam’s three other spinoffs!

On Tuesday, Kourtney, 34, and Scott, 30, officially sold the Calabasas, California, home they bought in 2010 and put on the market just two months ago. The new owner paid $2.975 million for the 5,400-square-foot abode with four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms inside a gated community, according to Redfin. The home features funky interiors touches, such as black-and-white striped walls, a patterned staircase, and colorful, stylish light fixtures. Amenities such as a fireplace, built-in book cases, and breathtaking views are also part of the package. Disick once described the home his fashion-conscious gal pal decorated with interior designer Jeff Andrews as “Alice in Wonderland meets Beetlejuice.”

But the couple and their two children, 4-year-old son Mason and daughter Penelope, 1, aren’t going far. They purchased former NFL player Keyshawn Johnson’s residence for $8.495 million in late January, despite the fact that Justin Bieber was going to be their neighbor. Fortunately, Khloé purchased the pop star’s digs so the Kardashian sisters will be living down the the street from one another.

Take a look at the impressive house Kourtney and Scott are leaving behind.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s DIY teeth whitening tip : Oil Pulling

I keep seeing “oil pulling” pop up and my curiosity got me. I looked into it and found out that one of America’s favorite actresses practices this healthy trick. Check out her Interview with E! via Glamour Mag below.

Find out Gwyneth Paltrow's DIY teeth whitening tip
PA Photos | By Leanne Bayley

Gwyneth Paltrow has a great set of pearly whites – and now she’s fessed up to how she gets them to stay so sparkly. In an interview with E! the creator of Goop has revealed it’s all down to oil pulling.

‘What is oil pulling?’ we hear you cry.

Well, over to Gwyn…

When asked if she has any favourite DIY skin treatments, Gwyneth replied bigging up coconut oil: “I use coconut oil a lot. I do on my face, on my skin and in my cooking. And I just started oil pulling, which is when you swish coconut oil around [in your mouth] for 20 minutes, and it’s supposed to be great for oral health and making your teeth white. It’s supposed to clear up your skin, as well.”

BLIMEY! Before we all rush off to Waitrose, let’s hear more about it, Gwyneth said: “It’s really interesting; it’s an ancient, ancient technique. I read about it on the Internet.”

So forget Listerine, it’s all about coconut oil! But sorry Gwyn, we have to admit, it sounds a little gross.

Since oil pulling is relatively new to the Western world, its health benefits have been vague, but a few published studies have confirmed that swishing oil does have value – especially for oral health.

In 2009, one study found that people who practiced oil pulling for 10 days showed a reduction in dental plaque comparable to plaque reductions seen in people who used chlorhexidine mouthwash during the same time period.  And in 2008, another study found that oil pulling effectively reduced mouth bacteria in the plaque and saliva samples of study participants.

So there you have it. Will you be trying oil pulling? Or have you tried it? Tweet us@GlamourMagUK.

Also in the interview, Gwyneth was raving about natural skincare line, Restorsea, and she told the presenter: “I get a lot of things sent but this one stood out. I loved the smell; it wasn’t floral, which I find off putting. I started using it and noticed a difference quickly in my skin tone. When looking into the company more, I learned it was started by a woman…I loved that it was a woman! I am all about that, ways to empower women. We call it the ‘Fempire’ here in the Goop office. I won’t ever endorse anything I don’t fully believe in.”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: Keeping Up with Kimye

by Hamish Bowles | photographed by Annie Leibovitz, April 2014

From London to Paris to Los Angeles, Hamish Bowles joins Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in their quest for world domination—and the perfect wedding dress.

The fast-cooling Los Angeles afternoon air is filled with the scent of eucalyptus and mimosa, the gurgle of water as it tumbles down a fountain wall into a picture-perfect azure pool, the exultant strains of Pharrell Williams’s “Happy,” and a chorus of “Old MacDonald Had a Farm,” performed in unhappy a cappella by Annie Leibovitz and Kris Jenner.

The frantic warblings of this unlikely duo are intended to entertain the geographically named North West, perched between her father, Kanye West, creative polyglot, and his fiancée, North’s mother, Kim Kardashian, cultural phenomenon—or Kimye, as the media has dubbed the telegenic pair while it relentlessly tracks their every move. North (“Kanye’s side of the family calls her Nori,” says Kim) is poised on her mother’s knee, a knee that is currently enveloped in a fall of Lanvin satin the color and consistency of double cream, fashioned by Alber Elbaz into a wedding dress of fifties haute couture magnificence. The dress is a fitting complement to Kim’s voluptuous movie-star beauty, with her flashing Ava Gardner looks and Sophia Loren figure that have helped to establish a new contemporary body paradigm after an era of waifs.

Small wonder that Kim idolizes Elizabeth Taylor, whom she first became aware of as a supportive friend of Michael Jackson. Taylor once lent Kim her Cleopatra cape for a photo shoot, and Kim conducted Taylor’s last interview (by phone and e-mail), about her legendary jewels. “Everything seemed so selfless for her,” Kim remembers. “We talked about the jewelry and how it ultimately didn’t belong to her; she just wanted to help people.” When Taylor’s estate was sold to benefit the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, Kim even acquired some of those jewels herself. She also went to look at Taylor’s house. “It was just so enchanting,” she remembers, “with a garden with really pretty trellises and beautiful roses, but it wasn’t realistic for me to purchase. It only had a one-car garage.”

Although North has inherited her father’s furrowed, quizzical brow, the pretty ten-month-old who is the focus of all this attention seems an island of preternatural serenity in the roiling sea of frenetic activity that is la vie Kimye.

North’s parents have already involved her in their creative lives. “I take pictures of her all the time and dress her up,” says Kim. “I put Kanye’s big chains around her, and I put a little Louis bag and some Jordans, and I was like, ‘What up, Daddy?’ ” Kanye, meanwhile, has made an adorable little stop-frame video of North caught in her natural movements that he’s edited to make it appear as if she’s break-dancing.

“Anybody need anything?” asks the agelessly glamorous, apricot-skinned Kris, fluttering eyelashes as thick, long, and lustrous as a hummingbird’s wings. “Water? Vodka? Get on my train!” she laughs. “Just kidding!” Kris (who, as Kim notes, “goes by the name of Lovey, not Grandma!”) is an astute businesswoman and an executive producer of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, now in its eighth season. Her home office is stacked with Kardashian product and magazine spreads—there is even a framed copy of her estranged husband Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner’s 1979 GQ cover.

When Kim was an impressionable little girl, she remembers, her fashion-mad mom “would always wear really tight—she was into Vicky Tiel, Moschino, or Chanel—with huge Moschino heart earrings. She had an amazing body and was always so in shape. One time Kourtney and I sat in my mom’s closet—we must’ve been eight or nine—and we were like, ‘If Mom dies, we’re going to write down who gets what.’ We went through every last piece of her wardrobe. We were so mean then!”

Healthy Low Carb Essentials.

About a 18 months ago, I decided to start the  low carb lifestyle. After gaining some..welll, more than some weight, I needed to take action. The weight gain was  all thanks to my chef boyfriend over feeding me 🙂 .  I knew  low carb was  the easiest ( lets not kid ourselves, it wasn’t always easy to deny pizza and cookies)  and best option for me. Since my boyfriend is a chef, it was easier to pass on the carbs than monitor every little ingredient he uses.  Below is a list  of  healthy low carb products that  I could not survive without.  It is never to late to start being the healthiest babe you can be!

Mission Low Carb tortillas: These saved the day! I love Mexican food and sandwiches, and this healthy option is fantastic. They are super soft and HUGE. I often cut them in half and have a good healthy wrap with some sliced turkey and cheese. Or make some low carb healthy enchiladas with them, even non low carbers with love them.

One carb Heize Ketchup : I love sauce and to dip!!  Compared to 3.76 for 1tbs of  carbs this is a simple 1 carb per 1tbs.  You can still enjoy your healthy bun-less burger or meatloaf with some ketchup!

Cauliflower: I never thought I would eat cauliflower so much but damn it’s good and versatile. From cauliflower mash, puree, faux mac n cheese and rice, makes cauliflower an amazing healthy substitute for carbohydrate filed dishes. I barely eat mash potatoes or regular mac and cheese, because this option fulfills my craving completely.

Spaghetti Squash: As an Italian, I grew up eating pasta, so this was a hard breakup. Thankfully spaghetti squash is a great alternative to the a lot of Italian recipes. I love bolognese  ,low fat Alfredo with mushrooms, spinach and sausage with it or even mock hash browns. Mix it up and I am sure it will win you over. Keep in mind it does take a while to bake, about 45 mins to an hour.

Eggs: I often eat eggs for breakfast and throw in whatever veggies or even left overs I have, in with them. They are high in protein and with taking out a yoke or 2, I am eliminating some fat. I also make them into healthy egg muffins that are quick and easy for the recipe –> Egg Muffins Recipe. I also hard boiled eggs  for snacks or to make deviled eggs with or even an egg salad in a romaine lettuce wrap.

Red Peppers: I am pepper bias, I only really like red ones. I love peppers in and with everything, dip them, sautee them, mix them in salad… you get the point… they are great and great for you.

Babe Days

Since it is officially spring and people are off on their spring break adventures and summer will be here soon, I thought I would share my favorite sunburn  DIY home remedies !

My sunburn healing essential is Black Tea! My mom has been using this trick since she was a teen. Tannic acid in the tea is a key component in beating a sunburn. Black tea is also full of antioxidants and herbs that can prevent your burn from blistering.  To soothe your burn follow the recipe:

  •  Place 3-5 black tea bags in a pitcher of warm water and let them steep  After the tea has cooled, simply dip a soft washcloth or cotton ball into the tea and start softly rubbing it over your burns. and then the healing begin!
